Founded in 1731, the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) continues to fulfil its commitment to promote excellence, encourage development and advance awareness within each of its foundation activities. The RDS has played host to various international artists over the years including Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Paul Mc Cartney, Paul Weller and Stereophonics to name but a few. The grounds are split up into various sections including the main hall, concert hall and simmonscourt to name but a few. It can act as an indoor and outdoor venue depending on the artist and time of year.
Because of its central location in Dublin, the variety and flexibility of the space available and the expertise on hand, the RDS has become a major venue for live music shows in Ireland.
