The Village – Dublin
The Village is a state-of-the-art music venue situated next door to Whelan’s on Wexford Street, Dublin. The venue was an old nightclub owned by Mean Fiddler but since 2003 has been turned into a music venue. It has a large balcony right around the venue and right up by the stage for a better view. The interior is modern, but warm, with comfortable seating and lighting that’s nicely forgiving for those of us who ain’t supermodels. There’s also an entrance at the back on Liberty Lane parallel with Wexford Street.
The venue has a capacity of 550 and previous acts who have performed at this venue include Ocean Colour Scene, Kelis, Ian Brown, Tricky, The Coronas, Damian Dempsey, Bloc Party and Billy Ray Cyrus to name but a few.
