Mary Byrne has just been confirmed as a special guest of Neil Diamond at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday the 25th of June 2011. Mary Byrne said: “Am I excited about it? I still can’t believe it’s happening! It’s just been this huge, huge secret for the past few weeks, I wanted to tell people but couldn’t. I’ve loved Neil Diamond since I got my first record player and here I am playing with him in my hometown.”

“The scale of this is something I don’t think I will understand until I walk out on stage. Heaven help me what it’s going to feel like,” she also said.

The X Factor star released her debut album Mine & Yours in Ireland last Friday. The album was recorded in Sphere Studios, London and produced by legendary music producer, orchestrator and songwriter Nigel Wright. Wright has scored five #1singles, thirty one Top 20 singles and numerous platinum albums with some of the most talented artists working today including Madonna, Barbra Streisand, Take That and Sarah Brightman.

Mine & Yours includes winning tracks familiar to viewers of The X Factor, from showstoppers like ‘This Is a Man’s World’ and ‘I Who Have Nothing’ to ‘The Way We Were’. The album also includes the tracks ‘I Just Call You Mine’ and ‘Galileo’ which was written by fellow Dubliner, Declan O’ Rourke.

Every song on the album holds a special meaning for Mary; each song chosen carefully for the memory it evokes or the feeling it creates when she sings it. The songs are also special because each is a musical stepping stone which brought Mary closer to realising her dream of recording a world class album and performing the tracks live for her wonderful fans.

Mary’s collaboration with Nigel Wright on Mine & Yours encouraged her to push herself musically and to find her confidence as a vocalist. This creative partnership has given us a beautiful album which captures Mary’s passion and showcases her dedication to truly interpret the meaning of songs and elevate the experience for the listener.

The title of the album reflects Mary’s wish to include her fans in her incredible journey. The album is Mary’s homage to those fans that voted for her every week and supported her through the X Factor experience.

Tickets for Neil Diamond live at The Aviva Stadium are on sale now through ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide.
