Janet Devlin steals the show while X Factor receives record viewing figures!

On Saturday the 20th of August 2011, The X Factor returned to our TV screens after much anticipation since details of the show were announced during the Summer. It was without doubt a weird affair not seeing some of the old faces including Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue – but in our opinion, they have been successfully and strategically replaced with a new judging panel which includes Gary Barlow from Take That, Kelly Rowland (Ex Destinys Child) and Tulisa Contostavlos (N-Dubz), all making very impressive viewing for the kick off to this seasons competition.

Final viewing figures proved that this years first episode generated 12.6 million viewers on ITV1 and TV bosses are now very confident that the new series will not be damaged by the departure of the 3 former judges.

The talking point of the show this weekend was definitely the angelic voice of 16 year old Janet Devlin from Northern Ireland who wowed the panel, audience and viewers alike with her astounding and heartfelt version of ‘Your Song’ by Elton John. Bookmakers have already put the young female in pole position to win this years show.
