14 Radiohead tracks offered as the soundtrack for climate change documentary film!
Ahead of their ‘King Of Limbs World Tour’ in 2012, Radiohead have pledged their support to The Maldives by allowing 14 of their official tracks to be used as the soundtrack for a new documentary movie which sets to raise awareness about the effect that climate change has on the island. Based on the struggle of President Nasheed of The Maldives, ‘The Island President’ is a film which will be screened at The Sundance Film Festival this month.
The ongoing climate change campaign is something that has a strong hold over Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke, and to show his ongoing support for the documentary, he posted the following comment on Radiohead’s Official Website this week: “‘The Island President’ is a film about the Maldives, and the struggle of President Nasheed to get the voice of a small nation heard in the climate change debate. Unless something is done to stop rising sea levels they will lose everything. The country will be under water. Some of our music was used to help tell the story.”
Tracks confirmed for inclusion on the soundtrack are ‘Everything In Its Right Place’, ‘House Of Cards’, ‘Idioteque’ and ‘Reckoner’ to name but a few.
