Hinted as One to watch for 2012, Dublin based rock/pop act, Keywest return to play a headline show at The Academy in Dublin to coincide with the release of their highly anticipated debut album “The Message”. Released in Ireland by Alphastar Records, “The Message” features the bands recent radio hits, ‘Feels So Cruel’ and ‘Back Into Your Arms’. The album, co-produced by Mark Needham (The Killers) and engineered by Dan Frampton (The Script) and Steve Marcussen (Keane/REM), ranges in style with crunching guitar driven tracks such as ‘Road to Damnation’ to more introspective heartfelt tracks such as ‘On This Train’.
Keywest were formed just over 3 years ago in a backyard shed in Artane, Dublin by childhood friends Andrew Kavanagh and Andrew Glover and were joined in 2010 by fellow Dubliner Eamon Hegarty and London lads, Sam Marder and James Lock.
The summer of 2011 saw Keywest sign a global publishing deal with industry heavyweights PEER Music in the US, while the summer also saw the band getting plenty of radio play across the country and performing at high profile gigs such as Oxegen, Arthurs Day, The Galway Arts Festival and The Rose of Tralee festival amongst others.
