Will Blur release a new studio album?
Following Blur‘s mega live set at this years Brit Awards after receiving their ‘Outstanding Contribution To Music’ Award, there has been quite a stir on the music scene as to whether or not Damon Albarn and Co. are hitting the studio to record a new album. Although Blur fans would obviously be hoping for a new LP, nothing has been confirmed yet and the band are under no pressure to record… yet! Blur producer Stephen Street who is responsible for both ‘Parklife’ and ‘The Great Escape’ albums from Blur, recently spoke out about the scenario and stated that he would love to record with the guys again.
Speaking to Louderthanwar, Stephen Street stated:
“I’ve not been approached about a new Blur record and I doubt I will be. I don’t think we should assume that they’ll make an album, I got the impression that they don’t want the pressure of having to make a new record.”
“Obviously I would love to be asked to produce them again but, I don’t know, they haven’t asked me to do the ‘Under the Westway’ track. William Orbit is involved apparently – but I don’t know.”
