Mumford & Sons Galway 2012 Irish Tour Date confirmed for Salthill Park on Saturday June 9th!

Mumford & Sons are pleased to announce details of a series of ‘Gentlemen of the Road Stopover’ shows this Summer 2012 which will see them performing a brand new Irish Tour Date. The one-day, outdoor events will tour globally and will see Mumford & Sons come to Salthill Park in Galway, Ireland this coming June 2012. Music Scene is delighted to reveal that Mumford & Sons will be performing live on stage at Salthill Park Galway on Saturday the 9th of June 2012. This live concert date in Salthill Park Galway will be headlined by Mumford & Sons, and will feature an impressive line up of special guests / support acts including The Vaccines, Willy Mason, Zulu Winter, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Correspondents. Surely, at this stage, almost everyone in Ireland is aware of indie folk quartet Mumford & Sons who became a global phenomenon based on the release of their debut studio album release ‘Sign No More’. Speaking about their new tour dates, Mumford & Sons said: “The Gentlemen of the Road Stopover is based loosely upon our favourite festivals like Colorado’s Telluride Bluegrass and Scotland’s Loopallu Festivals. We want to stop off in towns not usually heavily toured by bands, and celebrate the people, food and music that inhabit them.”

Mumford & Sons also stated: “We’re keen to promote the town’s local businesses, and we’ll be using the local bars and venues for aftershow parties, whilst working closely with the local people to get everyone involved in making these shows spectacular. There will be a host of our friends playing too, and the vibe falls somewhere between ‘travelling Victorian circus’ and ‘Victorian travelling circus’. It should be a whole lot of fun.”
