Ex Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes has revealed that his brand new debut solo album was inspired by the bombings in Libya. ‘Here Come The Bombs’ will be released here in Ireland on Friday the 18th of May 2012, and was produced by Sam Williams as well as Gaz Coombes himself. Speaking in a recent interview with The Guardian regarding his debut LP, Gaz Coombes stated: “You see aerial footage of bombs dropping and it doesn’t seem real. But down there, it’s fucking mental. I got this feeling that there are a lot of people around the world who aren’t listened to and they’re being wronged. It had an effect on me, a very strange emotion – enough to make me start writing stuff down.”

Gaz Coombes (36) plays every instrument on ‘Here Come The Bombs’, and we have no doubt that it will prove to be a very interesting piece of work.
