Line-up extended for Sea Sessions 2012!
Music Scene is delighted to unveil a new list of additions for Sea Sessions 2012 which takes place from Friday June 29th until Sunday July 1st in the regular setting of Bundoran in Co. Donegal. Adding to the already impressive line-up including Happy Mondays, Kaiser Chiefs, The Coronas, Rev Run (Run DMC), are local talents; Bouts, platinum album and Northern Irish trio Relish, live favourites The Riptide Movement, Meteor Music Prize nominees Tieranniesaur, young up and coming mods The Strypes.
DJ Ruckus is now joining Rev Run on the main stage and is America’s most in-demand celebrity deejay, known for his effortless ability to fuse hip-hop, rock, electro, house, soul, funk, and reggae. Together, Rev and Ruckus have performed at the world’s most recognisable nightclubs, festivals throughout Europe and high-profile events such as the Super Bowl, Oscars, and American Music Awards. Their high-energy DJ/MC show has drawn rave reviews from such publications as Rolling Stone, Billboard and more.
Music Scene is also delighted to reveal that the following have also been confirmed to join the official line-up for Sea Sessions 2012: Ciaran Carty, Collie-Hertz U, Chubby Badnews (Reach), Cry Monster Cry, Danny Mac, David DeValera, Disconauts, DJ Her, Dune Collective, GalaFari (Power FM), Gar Frequency, Mad Dog, Mystro, Noel Phelan, Raglans, Richard Beard, Stonefree, The Ships, The Unabombers, The Young Folk, This Side Up and Under The Driftwood Tree.
Not only that but guess who else shall be attending Sea Sessions 2012?
We have the honour of announcing that the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, will be arriving on Saturday June 30th to give a speech, and to tour the festival site. He will hopefully be presenting the awards to the Barefoot Expression Session Surfers if the surf contest has run before his arrival. The nature of surfing is very much dependent on the elements and the competition will run when the waves are best on any of the tree days of the festival. We wonder if Michael D. will be up for a surf lesson?
