Aslan cancel 2012 Tallaght Stadium Dublin gig!

Music Scene is sad to reveal that Irish legends Aslan have been forced to cancel their upcoming 30^th Anniversary gig which was due to take place at Tallaght Stadium in Dublin on Saturday the 30^th of June 2012. Unlike most cancelled gigs which are usually “due to unforeseen circumstances”, without hesitation, promoters Raglane Entertainment revealed that it was a decision made purely because of low ticket sales. Not even a drop in ticket price, or stunning support acts including Kaiser Chiefs and Royseven could save this show from cancellation.

Speaking about the cancellation of their Tallaght Stadium concert, Aslan’s Billy McGuinnes: “We are all devastated. Making the decision to cancel the show has been incredibly difficult and we are truly sorry to the thousands of fans that were looking forward to celebrating with us on June 30th. It’s a real sign of the times. We did everything we could to make it work. It costs a lot to run stadium shows, you look around and many of the big shows seem to have difficulty selling these days. People just don’t have the spare cash. We tried our best, but it just wasn’t to be. We’d have loved to have celebrated our 30 years in such a huge way, but we will find another occasion to do this with the Aslan fans.”

All tickets purchased for Aslan live at Tallaght Stadium in Dublin can be refunded from original point of purchase immediately.
