Black Sabbath close Download Festival 2012 in style!
On Sunday the 10th of June 2012, metal legends Black Sabbath brought the historic annual Download Festival at Donington Park to a close, belting through a total of 18 hits from their illustrious career. It was definitely a landmark gig judging by the reaction from fans online, and not to mention the presence of guitarist Tony Iommi, following his recent health scares. Ozzy Osbourne & Co. stole the show on the Sunday, arriving on stage to a montage of images which got the crowd warmed up, whilst finishing with an encore of their classic track ‘Paranoid’, and a very pretty / colourful firework display.
Paying homage to one of his best friends, Ozzy Osbourne spoke of Tony Iommi on stage at Download Festival 2012: “The guy on the stage I’ve known for most of my life, and he’s one of the strongest guys I know. Let’s hear it for Mr Tony Iommi.”
