Following her smashing performance at The Phoenix Park in Dublin on Sunday the 8th of July 2012, Florence Welch has been forced to cancel some upcoming European tour dates due to vocal cord damage she obtained while performing on stage in Dublin last week. Florence Welch claimed that she felt like “something snapped” while belting out her hit ‘Shake It Out’ in front of 45,000 Irish music revellers. Under strict orders by a specialist, Florence Welch has been recommended to take at least one week’s break from singing.

Florence Welch stated: “Unfortunately, this means I will not be able to perform at Benicassim and Optimus Alive festival this weekend. I am so sorry to all the fans, I was desperate to perform, but was told without question not to do so, so as to not do permanent damage. I hope I can make it up to you in the future, have an amazing time.”

Lucky enough, us Irish fans got to catch Florence & The Machine performing live this Summer!
