Paul Weller wants to collaborate with Damon Albarn!

Speaking to The Daily Star earlier this week, The Modfather himself talked about the current music industry and revealed that he stills buy records, new albums and listens to any new bands he can get his hands on. However, Paul Weller revealed that he has not been impressed by many artists recently, but he does admire the work of a certain man who goes by the name of Damon Albarn.

Paul Weller stated: “I’m still going out and buying records, but nothing’s blown me away – although I thought ‘Dr Dee’ was fantastic. I’d love to work with Damon. I’m up for working with anyone if they’ve got something creative going on.”

Dr Dee by Damon Albarn is an operatic work that revisits John Dee, a renaissance man of the Queen Elizabethan era. A hard pill to swallow in our opinion, but if Paul Weller gives it the thumbs up, then so do we.

Move over Noel Gallagher, unless of course you fancy sharing the studio with Damon Albarn on the next Weller album. A very interesting combination of creativity may prevail.
