Slam Dunk Ireland will take over The Academy in Dublin, with live shows in the main venue and The Academy 2, with Lockdown DJs playing in The Green Room area.
But the party doesn’t stop there! For attendees over 18 years of age, The Green Room of The Academy venue will then host a special aftershow party starting once the live acts finish, with Lockdown DJs playing until late.
Slam Dunk have selected a handful of outstanding bands already performing at the main festival, and are bringing them over to Dublin to give music lovers a chance to experience Slam Dunk Ireland! Confirmed to play this brand new and exciting extension of the festival are rock champions Four Year Strong and pop punk favourites The Wonder Years. The last time these two bands shared a stage in Ireland was back in 2011 on the Kerrang! Relentless Energy Tour.
There’s something for fans of heavier acts as well, with the mindblowing Bury Tomorrow and Yashin confirmed. And local music is represented by current Kerrang! faves Wounds, Red Enemy and Jody Has A Hitlist.
The line-up for Slam Dunk Ireland will see the following acts play across two rooms in the venue:
Four Year Strong
The Wonder Years
Bury Tomorrow
Yashin
Man Overboard
Fireworks
Wounds
Red Enemy
Jody Has A Hitlist
Slam Dunk Ireland creator Ben Ray says “After running Slam Dunk Scotland for a number of years, and with the addition of Wales last year it felt only right that the next step would be to take it over to Ireland. We choose Dublin as we have already been invited over there a couple of times to run the club night and we have made some great friends over there. I’m happy now to say there is a Slam Dunk event which is fairly near to everyone in the UK and Ireland, allowing everyone to come and see this great line-up!”
Don’t miss Four Year Strong plus many more performing live on stage at The Academy in Dublin as part of Slam Dunk Ireland 2013.
