James Blake wins Mercury Music Prize 2013!

Hats off to James Blake everyone – the 25 year old Londoner has won the 2013 Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize for his amazing studio album ‘Overgrown’. Beating of stiff competition from the likes of David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys, Jake Bugg and Villagers plus many more, James Blake was pretty much considered an outsider in the running for the prestigious prize this year (click here to view full list of nominations). However, he has proved us and the critics wrong, so it’s time to take ‘Overgrown’ back off the shelf and give it another couple of listens.

This was the second time James Blake was nominated and commenting on his award at The Roundhouse in London ceremony on Wednesday October 30th 2013, he stated: “I had convinced myself that it was going to be a second year of being nominated and not winning.”

Congratulations James Blake.

Here’s a taster of what ‘Overgrown‘ has to offer…
