Taken from his second solo studio album ‘Chasing Yesterday‘, residing as track #6 on the LP, ‘The Right Stuff‘ by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds has been remixed by none other than Robert Del Naja aka 3D of Massive Attack. Available for you to listen to right here on Music Scene, the track has been given a bit of a lift in terms of percussion, while the vocals of Joy Rose from the original album version have been removed. Check it out for yourself to see what you think:

In 3D’s words, “It was a good opportunity to take a great song, slow it right down, remove the guitars and then scratch the clarinet backwards.

Speaking of the collaboration, Noel Gallagher himself also hinted that it’s been a long time coming: “I remember being at The Brits in ’95 and D offering to do a Massive Attack re-mix of ‘Cast No Shadow’. The idea was never followed through and it’s something I’ve regretted ever since. It’s nice to finally scratch the itch somewhat.

In terms of an actual physical release: There will be a scarce 500 copies of the remix available on 12-inch vinyl from July 31st 2015 through 3D’s (of Massive Attack) own Battle Box imprint in conjunction with The Vinyl Factory – click here to purchase.

Don’t forget that Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will be performing live at The Marquee in Cork on Tuesday July 14th 2015 – click here to buy tickets.
