Vinyl record sales reach 25 year high!

In a decade where streaming music has absolutely dominated, 2016 has proved to be the a great year for vinyl record sales, mainly due to the illustrious careers of the deceased. Reaching a 25 year high – it has been reported that 3.2 million vinyl LP’s were sold legitimately in the UK alone, surpassing a peak reached back in 1991. Leading the vinyl charge is the late David Bowie, whose final studio album ‘Blackstar‘ resides at the summit of the top ten list which you can view below.

Bearing in mind that while vinyl is definitely making a comeback, streaming music is still the predominant form of listening, with approximately 45 billion audio streams being consumed in 2016, up 67.5% from the previous year.
